Kinematic Source Inversion using BEAT software

The BEAT (Bayesian Earthquake Analysis Tool) software is an open-source Python package used for earthquake and crustal deformation source parameter estimation trough a Bayesian framework. It can be used for various types of source inversions, including full moment tensor an more complex kinematic rupture models.

Source Inversion Validation and Equake-RC

The SIV-efforts of the CES-Team are borne out of the initial SPICE blindtest for earthquake source inversion, carried out within the EU Framework 6 Research and Training Network (RTN) "SPICE" (Seismic wave Propagation and and Imaging in Complex media: a European network). The findings of the source-inversion blindtest are published by Mai et al. (2007), and lead to a series of workshops in which a larger-scale source inversion validation framework was developed. For more details, problem descriptions, participation, access to solutions, and previous workshops, please visit our SIV-wikiand SIV-introduction.

Open and accountable data-resources are crucial for the advancement of science.

We develop an online collaboration platform to disseminate resources related to earthquake research: eQuake-RC. This site serves as an access-point to SRCMOD, a finite-fault rupture model database, the Source Inversion Validation(SIV) site with its wiki and lists of benchmarks, and computational tools for earthquake rupture model generation and related software.
