Abdulrahman was a MSc student of the KAUST founding class, and worked in the CES Team until he graduated in 2011. In his MSc thesis, he developed and applied a method how to optimize the station configuration of broadband seismometers in Saudi Arabia (using the then current configuration of the Saudi Geological Survey) to improve earthquake location capabilities.
