Research Interests

Jürg is interested in using seismic waves to image Earth structure with innovative methods that allow for rigorous uncertainty quantification. He received his PhD from ANU Canberra (with Prof. M. Sambridge), and spent 2 yrs as a post at Norsar (Oslo, Norway), before joining KAUST in Fall 2010. His work at KAUST helped to kick-start the receiver function study with SGS broadband data to map crust and upper mantle structure underneath Saudi Arabia. He also coded the first proto-type of the SIV-benchmarking platform.
