Research Interests
Wave propagation in complex media (analyzing seismic wave propagation in heterogeneous three-dimensional media characterized by random velocity perturbations, including complex faulting and dynamic rupture, to simulate realistically ground motions in the near-field region), Hybrid broadband techniques (developing computationally inexpensive deterministic-stochastic methodologies to calculate reliable synthetic seismograms, representing a fundamental tool in ground shaking estimation and earthquake scenario works), High-performance computing in seismology (developing and testing numerical codes, to be applied in different forward and inverse seismological problems, characterized by high-portability and scalability in high-end parallel computation resources – e.g. IBM BlueGene)
